The planting has been a success! After a truly unbelievable germination period and a slow start up the trellis, the vines are thriving and the harvest is starting to roll in! They taste like strong cucumbers and are super crunchy. I bet you could sell these for $8 a pint at the farmers market! (I give away all of my extra veggies for free but I like to calculate the market value.)

The first Chocolate Cherry Tomatoes! I love this type because they are big enough to matter but small enough to snack on. They have excellent flavor and don't crack immediately. Also, Rosie and Glo have no respect for the fence that keeps them out of the garden.

That's my jam! I made peach-basil jam from @pearsonfarmga peaches and it is delicious! The canning was actually not as labor intensive as I remember. I think I'll pick up some pickling salt and get some cucumbers preserved too.

Lava field flowers are amazing! They are teeny tiny and incredibly tough. They are slowing turning lava rock into soil. If you stick around for a few millennia you'll see their progress.

I am sure that there are animals in the parks but I am not seeing much of them. Here is my animal series: 1 - maybe a wolf print? It was a little smaller than my palm and had deep claw holes. 2 - picture of a picture someone else took of Bison fighting. I kind of saw it? I have seen a lot of bison but mostly just standing still. 3 - deer. Maybe it is a special western deer? I don't know. 4 - there is a moose in this picture. It was in a "moose environment." That's pretty much a zoo exhibit. I did see a moose way up in the mountains but it is a teeny tiny spot in the picture. Nature is unpredictable.
