That’s my jam! I made peach-basil jam from @pearsonfarmga peaches and it is delicious! The canning was actually not as labor intensive as I remember. I think I’ll pick up some pickling salt and get some cucumbers preserved too.

Lava field flowers are amazing! They are teeny tiny and incredibly tough. They are slowing turning lava rock into soil. If you stick around for a few millennia you’ll see their progress.

I am sure that there are animals in the parks but I am not seeing much of them. Here is my animal series:
1 – maybe a wolf print? It was a little smaller than my palm and had deep claw holes.
2 – picture of a picture someone else took of Bison fighting. I kind of saw it? I have seen a lot of bison but mostly just standing still.
3 – deer. Maybe it is a special western deer? I don’t know.
4 – there is a moose in this picture. It was in a “moose environment.” That’s pretty much a zoo exhibit. I did see a moose way up in the mountains but it is a teeny tiny spot in the picture.
Nature is unpredictable.
